Thoughts, opinions, experiences with these tires on a tow rig?:

Tow rig is a '12 Ram 3500 SRW CC 4x4 Cummins towing mostly a 10,500 pound receiver pull 37' camper and a bed full of firewood

Looking at load range E in 285/70/17, or 285/75/17, or 295/70/17, or 305/65/17

BFG AT KO and KO2

Toyo AT II

Nitto Terra Grappler and Terra Grappler G2

Cooper ST Maxx

Toyo MT-only b/c the high load rating on the 285/75

Thought you were a Revo :tc:?

For an A/T, Toyo AT2's

For a M/T, Cooper STT's. Thats what we had on the TJ, I currently have on my F250, Matthew had on his Tacoma, and Matthew just ordered for his new Tundra.

Had good luck with the Revo's but the Revo 2's suck, have gone to AT KO's on the Tacoma

Im looking for tires as well. What size are these metric sizes that are posted, I'm needing a 34"-35" x 11.50-12.50.

285/70/17-33x11.50
285/75/17=34x11.50
295/70/17=34x12.0
305/65/17=33x12.50
305/70/17=34x12.50
315/70/17=35x12.50

NitNitrorra Grapplers for the win! I worked at 4 wheel parts and sold plenty of tires for tow rigs of all sorts. The Nitro Terra Trappers or Toyo Open Country tires out lasted the BFG's and other brands without question. Ride smooth and quiet too. I saw an average of 50,000+ in the sets I sold. That's why I'm running them on my F250.

The Toyo MT in 285/75/17 has a load rating of 3970 pounds instead of almost every other 17" tire which have 3195 pound load ratings. I guess the only other exception is the original Nitto Terra Grappler which is 3750 pounds in 285/70/17 and 3640 pounds in 305/70/17. Interesting that all of the Nitto Terra Grappler G2's are 3195 pounds.

Are the Toyo MT's obnoxious on the street?

They are almost identical to the Coopers, if I remember correctly. Mine balance great and tow just fine with them. Going to north Alabama next weekend with an equipment trailer to tow an F250 back. I'm running 315/75R16s. Also, the tread life is doing great so far.

I have Toyo mt's on my F250 and love them. I'm on my 2nd set. They have slight roar around 40-45mph but i have had at's that were just as bad. Mine are 265/85/20 load range E. :driving:

Certain sizes of the Toyo ATII's come in an Xtreme version:

Another vote for these. Had them on last truck and loved them. Grandpa has them on his and he is ruff on stuff and after about 20,000 still look good.

I had nitto mt on current truck and never could make them ride good so after 10,000 miles went with toyo at II extreme and like them way better

I'm looking for tires also for my tow rig. I currently run the Toyo M/T and had great luck out of them keeping them rotated is a must or they will dip & roar like crazy. I was considering going to the AT II also. They don't feel soft or like there floating do they?

Not sure if it matters to ya, but the BFGs are built here in Tuscaloosa. Heard a lot of good things about the new KO2.

No. Another reason I took nitto off. When I pulled a big trailer it felt like I was on ice sliding around

I had a set of bfg all terrain on my 05 dmax and only got 22,000 out of them. Rotated every 5,000 miles and pressure checked.

I've been real impressed with several sets of AT KO's on my work Tacoma. Have always liked the BFG's, but they lack the 285/75 or 295/70 sizes that Toyo offers.

Really the Toyo MT comes in exactly the size I want - 295/70/17 and I really like the higher load rating at 3970 pounds I guess I just gotta decide whether or not I want an MT on the tow rig.

Sure wish the Toyo ATII or either of the BFG AT's came in this size and with a load rating higher than 3195 pounds.
