Abandoned vehicle title

Kinda of random but anyone on here ever deal with getting a title for an abandoned vehicle in Alabama what info is needed and how much of a hassle is it

Alabama now does "bonded titles" it is a significantly easier process than abandoned titles. All you need to do is purchase a surety bond on the title for the vehicle then take it to the DMV along with a bill of sale and they will issue you a title. It really is that simple. The hardest part is finding an insurance company that issues title bondds.

As far as a bill of sale would I just write a bill of sale out to my self and who would be the seller

When I worked at Alfa Insurance we use to write them through one of our secondary insurance companies.

You will need a bill of sale from whoever you legally purchased the vehicle from. In my experience the DMV does not care if the seller on the bill of sale was the last title holder of the vehicle or had any other legal interest in the vehicle. I'm guessing that writing a bill of sale to yourself would not work though.
