Back up camera

I wonder if a Gopro would stream to your phone from that far.

Mine streams to about 100' without issue. But sometimes the refresh rate isn't great. Might not work for a backup cam. There might be more GoPro pros on here that can comment tho.

Bringing this thread back-up (pun intended) form the dead.

I plan to keep the factory Ford radio in our 12' F250 until it quits working, so looking at back-up cameras that have the camera mounted to the license plate and monitor either clipped over the factory rearview mirror or have their own separate monitor.

Any newer recommendations for a backup camera?

X2. Best damn invention since birth control.
Quoting this just because it's from the P Hole Man and every time someone mentions back up cameras now I let them know this vaulable piece of info that Patrick taught me.

As far as what to get I'd say just check Amazon reviews. That's where I got mine and it works great. Just can't remember what brand it is but is a plate frame style.

Any other opinions out there on aftermarket back-up cameras?

I've read through a bunch of Amazon reviews, but would rather get some opinions of folks on here vs Amazon folks.

I've got a couple of the amazon cameras and have had good luck with them. They are cheap and work pretty well. They are not quite as good as a factory installed one, but for $15-35, there's nothing to even give a second thought. I put one on the front of my truck thinking it would help with tight space maneuvering, but it didn't because of the mounting location. The camera can't see any part of the truck so there is no frame of reference for distance. The index lines are too far out. Other than that, I like them.

Good to know. Got any links to the ones you have personally used/dealt with?

I'd be interested in a wireless one that would interface to an ipad/tablet.

Does that exist ? :dunno:

Rearview Camera Vehicle Backup... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0792M37V5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

36 Month Warranty Backup Camera... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0764B2KS6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

License Plate Backup Camera, Esky... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GMC8QXI?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

These are the 3 I have. The only issues I've had are that LED reverse lights make the license plate one a little fuzzy and then the top one that has built in LED's did not like being tested with an 18 volt dewalt battery. It fried a couple of the LEDs, but that was 100% my fault.

These days, everything exists.

Super quick amazon search. I'm sure there's better options.

For some reason that link won't click, so here it is:

Thanks for the links and additional info/experiences. Will start looking into these more.
