I got on a member cause he was trying to sell a Jeep to a dealer with the wrong gears. Wanted to pull the front and wanted to know if it would make any noise during the test drive. If this is the reason Camo can blow my balls and will never see any money from me again. I was about to become a vendor there as well. What a douche!

I guess I will find out on 10-10-2009

I and many of my friends have felt this same way. I'll never give another red cent to that site. I'll stop here since I feel I could go on for days about that cluster.

They are funny that way. Everyone I've ever seen post links to porn sites there has been banned. But recently PIG from Poly posted a direct link to a porn site and they haven't made him do a thing about it much less ban him. My brother is also banned from an argument he had with Lance a long time ago.

Peersonaly, I hate how the site is run. BUt there's no better source for tech so I just limit my posts to only tech-related or rarely very light humor and keep my nose out of the rest. I think I'm almost to about 5000 posts there since 2003 and every single one of them almost is in Gen4x4 Tech.

Yeah that is all I read is General 4x4. And that is where the dumbass posted the silly question. I know I took and made a topic in the Bad Sellers, But wasn't that what the dude was doing. Oh well, no big deal I just know where they stand. And like posted before I will not give them another penny. I will still frequent the General 4x4 tech but that's it.

Pirate brings out the best and the worst in this sport. It is what it is. Its gotten to the point that anything and everything industry related is funneled through that website. Its a force , thats the reality.

Yeah, and it is cool. But Sometimes I believe they don't hold to the morals of the 4x4 Community. Surely I am not the only one that feels this way. I have been fawked by idiots trying to sell something that it's not. And in return it makes me second guess every purchase I make. I agree a lot of stuff that gets started on Pirate is childish but this tool was honestly asking how to rip off a dealer and I am the one banned...
But as long as everyone supports the site it will continue to go in this direction. I will use the site but will no longer give 20.00 a year for the added perks of filling Camo's & Lance's pocket. I don't know if they even know why I was banned or that I am banned. But for this reason is what will make me stand on the outside and look in from now on.

I hear ya Josh, **** I had a redstar for one year. I got it from a trade / purchase from Lance and Mike Shaffer at the 2000 ( I think ) ProRocks event in Disney Oklahoma.(only one they ever had there I think) My dad and I were down there with his Willys and they were there competing, dad killed an electric fan so we bought a flex fan from some Okie we met at the parts store. He over heard our dilema and said he had one so we followed him to his place and he let us root around in his shed hunting pieces and the fan. Got back to Hogan's and needed bolts and a spacer that Mike and Lance happened to have . A deal was struck and I got parts for pops ride and a red star. I also got to met Mike S and Lance back when they were winning ARCA back in the diz-ay SON !

Is the free search any different than the red star search or are you just stating your opinion that their search in general is aggravating?

What's most aggravating to me is how it automatically takes words with less than 3 letters out of search criteria. I know you can just put in ***'s but for some reason that never works for me.

People on there do get their panties in a wad when someone ask questions. Its like everyone to use the search function that does not work before asking how to fix whatever they are working on. I have been a member on their for about 4 years and only have 5 posts because I know some a**hat will have something to say that is just (thats all I have to say about that)

Suggesting an alternative, has everyone registered at www.offroadfabnet.comhttp://http://http://http://? IMO it is the next best thing to Pirate in terms of tech but without all the BS. In fact, they put an emphasis on keeping the discussion relatively polite compared to Pirate. Obviously, they don't have anywhere near the database of tech that pirate has built up over the years. But IMO the tech is more pure, higher quality, and there are some seriously skilled people there. I don't know desert racer names and such but I know there are some big names there because I see the fab and some of it makes even the best Pirate **** seem booty. They try not to put the site out there as the anti-pirate but for all intensive purposes it is.

And for all you KOH-obsessed folks, there seems to be an equal amount of desert guys there posting stuff as there are 4x4 guys so there is a lot of crossover discussion that occurs.

Finally, the owner of the site also owns 2020 Software. (IE, Bendtech.) So it is nice to support someone who appreciates the support and gives a rat's ass. While Lance was there from the beginning of rock crawling, his relative investment was minimal. At the time he was just a hobbyist with a cheap forum. Chris from 2020 first wrote Bendtech and started selling it when there were relatively few people bending tube as compared to now. He put forth MAJOR amounts of time and work so that we could all have an affordable program instead of drawing chalk-lines on our garage floors. He put his money where his mouth was. (I don't care to have a discussion on where Lance's money has been.)

Oh, and they dont' have search limitations for free members there either.

If you haven't been there I think you will find it very refreshing compared to Pirate.

x2, I am on there and hey have pure build threads that show tech. If you are looking how to bend some tube or fabricate that is the place. Sometimes like a lot of places get to big for their own good. I support 2020 Software....

Just so everyone knows Khag4 made a post in the General 4x4 Discussion about selling his 2000 jeep to a local dealer with the wrong gears in it. He said why spend 500.00 to regear and wanted to know if it would pass the test drive....

So I am sure he would screw one of us over if he had the chance. I feel members should be put here if they in any way show to be a low life douchebag. :flipoff2:

That puts a bad look on the 4x4 community...

I am glad to know where Pirate4x4 stands. I guess you are either friends of the member or know someone who is. As I can piss and moan cause you all do the wrong thing it will never help. It would have been nice to know why before the ban showed up. You have proved nothing to me other than you will ban for the wrong thing. I still believe that member was in the wrong and I will discontinue being a red star member on count of this. I am also forwarding to CAMO . Just so he knows why he is loosing a paying member that has always contributed to the 4x4 community not one that makes it look bad.

I believe it is because the bad sellers section is for business done on PBB. While I do agree that this guy should be watched out for, he hadn't done anything to a member of the board or was trying to sell anything on the site. They have said before that unless the transaction took place in the classified or vendor section to not put it in the bad sellers section. It could have been shown in Gen Chit Chat and more than likely gone ok.
