I'm about to set up the steering on my yj. I swapped in a 78 f250 hp44 and was wanting to know steering options. I know I'm going to have to do high steer. I was wanting to know if I had to do cross over steering, or could I just put a high steer arm on the drivers side and then just rig up a tie rod set up that way?

I had a '78 D44 setup like that, it works but I had to change pitman arms to get full turning radious, I tried a Waggy arm, it was right length but to much of a bind, then I used a pitman arm from a old school F100 or F150, it gave me some drop and better turning radious, then I said screw it and went full hydro

If you have a steering box on the left side (of course you do) then you need to connect your drag link on the right side......

Now whether you want the tie rod up high or in the stock location is up to you.

So definitely cross over steering? I was just trying to get out of drilling and tapping the spindle.
