Maxxis Razr MT tires

Yeah I hear ya, I really want to try the Razr MT, so i think I'm gonna order them, just trying to decide if I want to order wheels too now or just add them later. Was wanting Fuel Mavericks in 17x9 +1mm offset, but they around $860ish, and Moto Metal MO970 17x8 0mm offset, in black/milled look damn near identical to the Mavericks, but are nearly $200 cheaper, so I will probably go with those. Ordering them both together would allow for free mounting an balancing, but not everybody woth good wheel deals carries the Razr MT, so I may have to order them separate.

The wheel I want.

I bought new wheels as well so that had a little to do with the tire budget. And our jk needs new tires and I'm thinking about going up to 37s on it.

Just looked on bbwheels, i can get those wheels and some 295 Lexani mud beasts for 1427 shipped....thats super cheap. Maxxis razr tires are gonna bring the total to about $200 higher. I've read some good things about the mud beasts wearing good, but im not sure if I can get over the generic/cheesy look of the sidewall. Lol. I always want wine on a beer budget. Doesn't look TOO bad I dont guess.

Other than the huge letters they don't look half bad. If you go to leave bb wheels cart it will give you a discount code. Least it did me.

Re:

Hmm, may try that lol. I may go with that combo, awfully cheap for wheels and tires.

I will give 200 for your stock wheels Josh
If I buy wheels and tires, I will probably sell the Terra Grapplers but keep the wheels. But even if I sold em, $200 sounds awfully cheap....lol.

Re:

I'm just messing with you man lol. If I do decide to sell them, I will def give you a hollar. Kept the ones for my old red 3/4 ton and it sold just fine with the black wheels so I may not need to keep these.

You ever get any wheels and tires for that thing?

I picked up a crew cab version of the same truck, and it's got a set of 265 "P" Bridgestones on stock wheels. lame.

Naw, see random thoughts thread for computer rant. Fawking 3 yr old laptop in perfect working condition, flawlessly fast, never had an issue ever, decided to randomly **** the bed Friday morning while attempting to access study material for a test I had that morning. Coworker took it home today and tinkered with it, thinks the motherboard went bad. So I just **** out $660 on another one, can't do without one for school. Dammit...unforseen big expenses piss me off.

As for tires. I'm 97.3% sure I'm going with Razr MT eventually. Comparing the specs on them to other tires that tend to run short like Lexani, Federal, etc, I'm even thinking about shitcanning the 295 idea and just going with 285's. The 285 70 17 on the 4runner below look a lot bigger, mainly wider, than the same size terra grapplers I have now. I realize they are on a smaller vehicle, but still look big for that size. Maxxis spec chart looks like these tires run true to size/big compared to others. I dont want to fawk with lifting/leveling etc at all, so 285's will still probably look great and bigger than the ones I have now. The 295's are 33.5 x 12.3, that's even bigger than the trail grappler runs, and those 295 trail grapplers I had on the fj seemed pretty big to me.

But some 295's sure would look sweet stuffed under my truck if they'd fit without rubbing....

Tires and wheels finally mounted. Seem like a decent tire. Kinda loud but not bogger loud. Ride good and all balanced well. They are soft so prob won't last as long as other tires. Will post milage pics after I get some miles on them.

My 295 70 17 Maxxis Razr Mt's came in today. Lawd hammercy, I think I got a chubby.

Unmounted they measure dead on 33 even x 12 even, specs says 33.5x12.3, so that's pretty good unmounted. Soon as my lug nuts come in, I'll be getting them bitches put on! Quite a bit bigger than the less than half tread 285 70 17 Terra Grappler G2's currently on my truck.

Yeah it needs a little lift, I may do the rough country level/lift that comes with keys and 3" blocks for rear. I'm gonna look into it. Just don't wanna totally kill the ride and start wearing axle boots out.

It rubs a little on the front bumper, and damn close to the back of the firewall, when turning. Gonna trim and remove the lower valance...still undecided whether to lift or level or what. Iirc I have about a half inch of bolt left to turn the torsion bars up more as it is. But it would look better being a little higher in the rear too. Tires turned out a little bigger than I imagined. Loving the wheels though and digging the look of the 17's.

now it just needs:
-black lower bumper valence thing 05+ were black instead of gray (not the most bottom air dam thing, throw that away)
-body color door handles
-non-work truck grille with body color "U" and paint the honey comb black
-rear fenderwells blacked out
:stir:

looks good

have you got the keys cranked all the way yet?
