Maxxis Razr MT, cool looking tire. Relatively new, looks like it came out last year. Limited 40k mile warranty. Looks very comparable to the Trail Grappler, actually saw a comment on Pirate where one of the guys tested the Razr MT against the Trail Grappler and claimed it outperformed the Trail Grappler offroad significantly. Not that I'm worried about the offroad aspect so much, but $800 for a set of 4 in the 295/70/17 flavor shipped to my door on ebay is appealing. They look like a distant relative of the Creepy Crawler tire. I dig em.

Anyone ran these, got these, know anything about these? What about deez.... nuts? :flipoff1:

Re:

I'm thinking real hard about ordering a set then selling my Terra Grappler G2. They are 285 70 17, 50-60% tread and worn evenly, figure I could at least get $300 out of them.

I bought a set of these a year ago when they first came out and have been happy with them. I wanted something different and really liked the look of these. They were one of the cheaper tires in the size I wanted (35x12.50/17). They ride great on the road and are little quieter than the BFG KM2's I have on my truck. Not much time offroad, can't add much there. Did good in the snow/ice we had a few weeks ago. Would buy these again in the future.

Post some pics son! Yeah, I thought so too on the price. Most others have them listed at $900+, but this guy has auctions for 4 shipped for $806 or 2 shipped for $403. That's a bangin' deal. Haven't read anything bad about them yet, but there isn't a lot of info out there on them either. They seem to be most popular amongs the streetable crawler Jeep people that live around places like Moab and out west, because they grip good on dry rock and are cheaper than all the other 40" offroad tires.

That price is ridiculously cheap for a set of 4 tires that size!

I'm sure they made in China (like most maxxis tires)...

You can get Master Craft MXT, Mud Claw, Mud Claw Extreme, etc private label tires made by Cooper Tire (USA) for the same price.

I guess someone might somehow create some leap of logic to try and justify an argument against that.

The do look pretty cool though... :flipoff1:

The tires you named are fugly (to me), with the Mastercraft being the least fugly. Been looking at tires pretty hard the past few months, considered the Mastercrafts, but something about em I just can't settle with. I'm picky as **** with tires. Those Mastercrafts aren't $800 a set either, cheapest on ebay was $948 for 295/70/17, which is just $150 more I know....but if we play that game, Trail Grapplers are just $200 more than the Mastercrafts, we could keep going.

Pics below I had saved of some 295 Mastercrafts and some cheesy raceline cheap wheels.

I really like the looks of this Maxxis tire though. Cool vid here of some awesome Moab trail scenery and some Jeeps running the Razr MT's. You can skip the first few minutes of the vid and get to the wheeling. Mild stuff, but damn it's beautiful out there....and those tires look badass to me! That Hamburger Hill trail looks fun.

Re:

Also had one friend and one guy I ran into say they didnt get **** for miles out of their Cooper STT Pro tires, so I'm kinda hesitant to pay good money for Coopers. I used to think differently, as I had a set of STT's back around 06-07 era and they wore like iron. If I'm gonna buy a cheap tire, I want the price to be cheap too Lol.

You looking for Load Range E only?

Those mastercrafts are all over bay for $812-850 for 4 load range C

(The Load Range E are $927)

If you like the old Cooper STT look, get you a set of Lexani Mud Beasts or Centennial Dirt Commander MT. They run about $650 laughing1
(and in all honesty, they are probably just fine for what you'd use em for)

Gotta put em on some Rock Stars tho molaugh

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/263395853469

Try that link. Dude doesn't have his title typed like others, so it doesn't show up in regular results, but instead below in results that match fewer words.

Guy I work with had a set of Lexani Mud Beasts on a crew cab truck like mine, they are definitely priced right. I would like to have some wheels too but that's a whole 'nother discussion. I've always thought 20's were the way to go on a full size truck, but I've been looking at trucks with 17's and 295's or bigger and I am starting to dig the look. But I don't make enough time to wash my truck as needed and stock wheels look much better than black wheels when they are dirty Lol...

Here are some trucks I have found that look good, both 20's and 17's. First couple are 20's, last few are 17's.

Digging the Fuel Mavericks, Fuel Kranks, and maybe a couple others like the Fuel Renegade and so on, but I'm really picky with wheels too. It's almost like I want to stalemate myself out of buying wheels and just keep my stockers. The good thing is, I can buy tires, then when I get bored with it later, I can buy some positive offset 17x9 aftermarket wheels.

Re:

I've gone longer than anticipated without doing something to this truck. It sits level on stock keys currently, the 285/70/17 terra grapplers just look too weak sauce for me. I want to get a dopamine hit when I look at my truck haha, I always feel like its lacking looking at it now.

But I dont want to put aftermarket keys in or do a level/lift kit, don't want to start tearing cv boots and such.

I got rid of my MXTs and got some Cxts. Seem a lot quiter and the tire shops said he likes them a lot and swapped all his service trucks from MXT to CXT. They're more aggressive than an AXT but he said they CXT is quiter. I've been really impressed with the snow and ice traction on them. Not that you guys need to worry about that.

I have Cooper STT Pros on my '14 Dodge 2500 and they are looking great at 30k miles on them.
Care to post or text pics of current condition at 30k miles? I had around 25k miles on a set of Federal Couragia mt's on my old 3/4 ton, they still looked good, sold it to a buddy, and he had a belt break in one, kept driving it, and blew out shortly thereafter. Lol. I like the STT Pros ok, just two local guys having negative reviews kinda made me skeptical.

I dont like how the center tread is proportionally larger than the outer treads.

At first i thought it was an optical illusion.

But the more I look at it, it looks like a damn lawnmower knobbie tire.
