I have had the ole weatherproof flip up face covers in the past.. Not interested in thos.. I'm wanting something where I can hook up my mp3 player (iPhone) either with bluetooth or with the cord and of course don't want to pay a arm and a leg. Wanting a marine speakers that bolt to a part of the tubing I think they are called cans.. But much help would be appreciated.. Thanks!!

if you are only gona use an mp3 player or ipod I would just use a marine amp and not even use a head unit. they make a cord that goes from mp3 player directly into the amplifier. just an idea

That's how Bombshell is set up. Marine amp and two 6.5" marine speakers. Plenty loud. I'll check amp wattage when I get home.

Re:

All in one amp/receiver/ with Volume knob and even a water proof bag for your phone. Smurfy knows how this setup works, just run power and remote (toggle Switch) and ground

That's what I have.
It even has a seperate Volume knob for you to flush mount anywhere and you can do the same with the 3.5mm jack if you want or this is what I did for bluetooth (just sync up phone and plug it into the 3.5mm jack on the amp)

And for speakers

That's the exact setup I have and it's compact and loud

I was leery of that PYLE amp system....i've got it in my WISH LIST on Amazon. The wattage is GROSSLY exaggerated. For one, look at the size of the amp's "power line". What is that.....14 gauge wire? Then, the dead giveaway.....the fuse/amp rating. 10amps. FWIW, Stereo head units that put out TRUE 15w per channel are around 7.5-10amp's. So like 60 TOTAL true watts....not 200+ like advertised.

The price is right, though. 50-60 watts would probably be loud enough right behind your head with a good V8 rumblin' exhaust about 1500-1800 rpms ridin'.

Installed the Pyle marine amp setup from ebay in my nieces Razr. It works good, great price, easy to instally, and easy to use. Just wasn't very loud when riding with the factory exhaust and then couldn't hear it after I put on a ful exhaust. With my buggy I bought a Pyle marine cd player housing from ebay. Bought a cd player with a usb cord that ran out the back and drilled a hole out the back of the waterproof housing to plug my ipod into and put silicone around the hole I drilled for the cord. Mounted a small amp under the dash with 4 5.5" kicker speakers in housings in the roof :dblthumb:

I installed an MBQuart 2ch marine amp under the passenger seat and a couple wakeboard tower speakers (Bazooka) on the cage. They sound great and I don't think I've ever run it more than 1/2 volume. The crawlertunes housings are pretty nice, and the Polk speakers he offers are great too. I run those 6.5s in my boat. I also installed the isimple cable to connect the phone to the amp, and charge the phone. That cable does require an in-line gain control (found that out with a very loud blast of music to my ear). For the hell of it, I also just added an 8" 100w powered bazooka tube.

Re: Re: Needing a audio setup in my buggy

Here's recent pics of my ****. And remember, round speakers sound way better than oval shaped speakers. My 6x9's have a little too much mid bass. Got both 6x9's, 2 new 6.5 MTX Thunder marine enclosures, and a couple small dash speakers, all ran off that little amp now and it sounds great.

Ya'll are making this wayyyy to complicated. On my grill trailer, that sits outside year round, tailgates at all AU games...has a very simple set up that has lasted 5-7 years longer than I EXPECTED it to. Sounds great...just flat out works..no amp...one battery.Simple set up:

Fusion boat radio...like this one but older..I also have a aux input for it. I have literally seen water pour off the roof onto it...it wont die. Ipod/Iphone inside so it charges and protects it

2 8" Bazooka same as above...outdoors year round...wont die...sound great..tube clamp mounted

1 10" powered Bazooka sub...mounted above the axle of the trailer...totally exposed...going on year 6. Adds just enough bass to keep the tower speakers happy.

In my opinion...a amp in a buggy is trouble. Keep it simple..everything above I have full confidence in and has worked flawlessly for a long time.

Best pic I could find:

Lol that's basically the same thing. That radio IS an amplifier, just more churched up. I don't see that being any less complicated than how mine is ran. Either way you cut it, there is a power, ground, fuse, remote wire, and speaker wire all to run. Yes it's a nice, waterproof radio and I definitely am not hating on it, but there's nothing wrong with having an amp in a buggy.....if it's a marine amp. Rode in the rain a bunch with it, it's rode on the trailer in even more rain, water drips directly onto it where it's mounted behind my passenger seat and it still works like a champ.

Essentially you have a amplifier radio with display for nearly $300 (see link below for pricing), and I have a marine amp that was $50 and a $7 RCA to Mp3 wire that does pretty much the same thing, minus the bluetooth (which would be nice.)

But you get what you pay for, my **** might fawk up next week. Who knows, I was just explaining the similarities. Before I bought that amp, several people had chimed in about running the exact same amp with wake tower speakers on their Gayzr's and buggies for a long time and never had any issues.

and rock out!

I'll argue that one til the day I die! I had 2 12" Pyle Blue Waves in a Memphis box with 1000w Volfenhag amp in my old Yukon I had before the truck I got now. Cheapo setup, but sounded good and I beat the **** out of them speakers for 3 years, sold the Yukon to a guy at work with the speakers still in it, and they are still working perfectly today. That's almost 6 years on some $30 subs.

That is a pretty cool lil radio but kinda pricey for something ill prolly just fawk up somehow. I think I'll roll with a marine amp.

I will also add that form my experience, marine amps fail alot more than marine radios or speakers...just my .02

Depends on how loud you want but I bought a little speaker that blue tooths that is about the size of a coke can at best buy for 100$ works pretty well just not over the top loud in a buggy.

I bought a used Boss u-shaped ATV audio tube, 6.5s and tweeters, it was amazed at how good it sounded, figured it would be crap.

I like it because I can throw it in the back seat of the truck, on the rack of the 4wheeler, or clamp it to the cage in the back of the jeep. All I need is a iPod and cigarette lighter port.

Got it for $100, but there only about $150 new I think
