What should I clean my tube with before I rattle can it? I cleaned it with brake cleaner before I bent it but wasn't sure if I needed to do any kind of prep before I throw on a coat or 6 of paint. Thanks

I think brake parts cleaner would work, but when it comes to cleaning a bulk amount of tube, I have preferred dumping acetone on shop paper towels and going to town. Throwing away many paper towels in the process.

Only problem with shop towels is the lent left behind.
I used cloth rags with acetone on mine and I have cases of shop towels I got for free.

Acetone on a shop towel, grip the tube gently and use long slow strokes...

You can use Xylene too.....Stinks to high hell but gives you a good buzz.

That's what I used when we did my cage. started using paper towels but the lent and scraps left behind caused problems so we switched to towels.

Don't forget to gently twist a little as you get towards the end.
