So I got me a new 18' tag trailer today and am wanting to mount my old winch on a plate and make it easily removable, possibly with a receiver type setup. Let's see some pictures of how you've done it.

Few pics I took building one with a battery tray on the farm flatbed. Added a few things not in the pics.

I highly suggest you build a box that locks around it or something to keep the thieves away. My winch was just stolen off my trailer not long ago

Oh it will not stay on the trailer, that's one reason I said portable, the other being I have two trailers that I need to put it on. And it's the bad ass little red warn rc 9000 with the synthetic rope, I'm sure it wouldn't last long on it at all.its a shame there are as many thieves running around like there are.

Supposedly the kid in the red stole the little dudes winch....right off his trailer

I used my old 6000 super winch and made a cradle and got the leads long enough to use on the truck its self or mount on the trailer. I just used a old channel I had to weld to the trailer, it all works good have used it a few times
