This is what I started with many years ago.

I'm redoing my rig again. I know most would have thrown it to the scrap yard and started over. Well I'm stubborn and hard headed. :****: I am trying to do this rebuild on very little to no moneys but we all know that's not possible. This is what she looked like when parked.

My main goal is to move the motor back in the chassis as much as possible. 13 inches is what I have accomplished. Made me some new poly motor mounts. I still need to plate the frame and get the BBF settled in.

4 link the front and bring it back in chassis to help with wheelbase, cause she was a long bitch.

I'm also trying to relocate my radiator to the rear of the buggy, hence why I was asking about radiator shops. I want my radiator to sit in that angle back area. After looking at my options I'm going to need to buy a radiator cause the copper one is far to heavy to be mounted like that. Would this angle create a problem in cooling, Such as cavitation of water

I'm also doing a disk brake conversion on the rear.

I other words I am not good at a build thread nor am I a great fabricator, nor am I rich! No this is not my shop I'm building it in, it's my mother in laws. Please have an understanding that I'm not new to hard work I'm just slow because of money and time. Please give me your advice and help if ya want. Razz me at will I have thick skin, :****:

View from the front. I will be cutting the frame and front tubing off once I get the motor mounted and can take weight off the axle.

Re: Rebuild thread

I will have to take a measurement of my fans. I think I need to be at 19" Will that thing keep a BB cool?

Re: Rebuild thread

Nothing wrong with a low dollar build. I've seen rat rods with rad mounted flat. I'm sure it's not ideal but could work. I'm interested in replies because my rad will be mounted lower than the motor.

Re: Rebuild thread

You would be very very surprised how cheap you can get a custom made radiator with fans. Track down julio or pete (dirtysouthmotorsports). Mine on my buggy came from the same guy Pete uses and I was shocked at what it cost

Re: Rebuild thread

I highly recommend PRC for a custom radiator. I ordered mine on a Friday afternoon and had it on my porch by the next Thursday. The prices are very good, and the quality is top notch.

Re: Rebuild thread

It would drive me crazy working on a dirty rig. I would have to roll it out on dollies and pressure wash that bitch. Hurry up!

Re: Rebuild thread

Glad to see this being reworked...please use this awesome shop, time and opportunity to work out the bugs & dont cut corners. You love to ride, your family enjoys the outdoors...make some list for your build such as

1-safety....for YOU and your friends and family. I remember a CL build on P4x4 where the guy only bought cheap, used parts from CL..seats, helmets, harness

2-reliability... fix all the bs..put some mufflers on this thing....enjoy it..BB sounds good even WITH a muffler..your on the right track with Propane..

3-comfort...see #1...trail riding is fun...it should be and is comfortable..lord knows its big enough..enjoy the room!

4-SIMPLICITY..i think this speaks for itself...anytime you think your adding something to this rig that JJ would think is cool...do the opposite

5-serviceability ..its a rarely used rig...make it easy to check and fix ****...then you will enjoy working on it more often

I think the entire rig is cool so I guess he should just quit now while he is ahead.

I didn't know your rig had a name, but I think Tetanus is an awesome name for it!

Might want to consider an on-board welder? :)
