So here is my delima, yes I have installed speed gears in the past. I have lost one due to incorrect pressure. Since its so hard to find dana 300 gears these days I am doing my due diligence. In the dana 300 there is a mark to align with the gear according to tooth count. On atlas there is not. They say to rotate till it makes contact then back off and clamp. The atlas fits so tight its hard to rotate once its in place.

So is there an external way to see its correct? For example if the retaining bolt is at 11 oclock position then my indicator is at the gear is in the 9 oclock position? I searched the web four an hour and couldnt find anything on the atlas.
