Tbi 350 burning oil

It was running fine for the first few hours of riding at the big meet run but then gradually started burning a lot of oil. I first noticed the smell and then it just got worse and wouldnt stay running. Ideas on what to check?

Your hood is kinda crooked. Thats pretty much the extent of my technical expertise.

Is this a recent swap?
If it just came out of grandma's car and had high miles at low rpm iy could have a ridge at the tops of the cylinders...

Then a few wot assaults will break all the top rings....

First step is a compression test.

That's exactly what happened to the original TBItoy. The engine I swapped in it only had 89k from my grandpas truck and I don't think it had ever been over 2500rpm.... had to be bored .040 over to clean up the cylinders

Yeah I knocked the body off the frame this past weekend. Too much skinny pedal

Check the plugs first that will tell you if its one particular cylinder or the whole engine. Just look for oiled up crud on them.
