Toy haulers

We have a 42 foot 2006 Cimmeron.
It has a 8000 lb payload and a 14 foot isolated garage. All aluminum trailer. Fiberglass roof. Had to have something nice for the wife and I wanted a enclosed trailer.

For those who are "a little less gifted" in the $ department, just throw a camper on a 5th wheel/gooseneck trailer, cheap, easy and functional... done haha.
23' foot camper, 16' foot deck.

I actually bought a 17 ft gooseneck camper just for this. I am selling it because I cant stand the way campers are built. I will be buying an enclosed trailer and finishing it to MY standards.

Anybody tried a stealth nomad yet? Ky power sports is a dealer for stealth trailers. They got a couple of the nomads on their lot. Looks like they're built fairly well.

not a full on camper. Just basic amenities.

For you guys with enclosed trailer style toyhaulers, would it be detrimental to not have a wall between the living quarters and the garage? I want to make the kids beds fold down from the walls in the rear buy don't want a wall between us and them. Is there an oder or anything unpleasant about sharing spaces?

I like the wall, for simple fact of fluids (gas, chemicals, RV stuff) is housed in garage portion. Also when rig is started, backing out or pulling in you don't have the smell of fumes. I know some folks don't care, some do.....

Personally I don't want to smell grease and oils when I'm sleeping nor if my rig is leaking something to smell it. Just me.

I believe a wall is a must and separate air conditioning. Ours has a heat pump in the garage as well. This makes a good back up unit for the living quarters unit Incase it fails.

Hadn't seen the Stealth Nomads yet, but seems like a cool concept/middle ground between a camper and an enclosed.

Out of curiosity, what size and floorplan are you looking at? I looked at Stealth's and Power Sports webistes, but didn't see a price for any of the Nomads.

My enclosed has a wall and door between the living quarters and garage. I've not noticed any type of odor or fumes in the back area. However, I pull the RzR out and open the vents as soon as I park and the RzR doesn't go back into the garage until time to head home.

I can't say that I'm in the market for one. I feel like they're kinda pricey for what they are. Just like you said as a good middle ground. Something other than having to go to a 40ft toy hauler to get enough garage space for something other than a sxs. I do like them though. I walked inside the one at ky powersports and it seemed well built.

Thanks for the link. I didn't go far enough on their website to find the pricing section.

Out camping with the family with our trailer. Figured I would add a few pics for those looking to build their own. You can see the gas grill slides out of a side compartment. It is plumbed for gas. The ship sink hooks through another outside compartment door. Just inside the door are the washer/ dryer connections, so I just tie in to run hit and cold water to the out side sink.

The front landing gear is hydraulic. It also has a back up pump that is located to the right hand side if the pic underneath. With the turn of a valve, it will also pump the slide in and out. The side is about 14 feet long and 24 inches deep. The fresh water tank is located under the couch in the slide out.

Here is a pic of the structure that controls the slide. A hydraulic ram on each side of the slide operates the X you see In the pic. That view is from the garage forward.
