Im looking into building a heavy duty skid plate but im running into a problem. Im running a NP203 with part time conversion doubled with a Dana 300. The NP203 hangs down below the frame quite a bit. The 300 is clockable so I can get it up and out of the way but the 203 is the problem. If I swap to an Atlas or similar I could gain a few inches of clearance. I like the idea of the doubler gear ratios but want a flat belly. Is it worth upgrading to an Atlas or should I just run what I have for now? They are mated to a turbo 350 tranny behind a 350 but plan to upgrade to a 5.3 or 6.0 next fall.

Can you clock your 203? That D300 is gona break at some point and then if you change it your gona have to refab all that stuff under there.

turn the 203 upside down if possible
Yes that.

The 4 bolt pattern on the back of the TH 350 is symmetrical. You can rotate the 203 upside down, the clock the 300 where you need it.
Shift linkage will be the tricky part.
