About to swap a 5.3 Ls into an s10. It needs lifters and cam. This will be a 1 ton crawler s10 cab truck. Basically stock engine(minus cam).

This has probably been covered, but I searched and couldn't really find a solid answer.

What cams have y'all used? Do you suggest? What would you do different?

Also, What's the going rate for a cut down harness?

tick performance sells truck cams. I bought there tow max stage 2 for my 5.3 but haven't got the engine in the Jeep yet.

You looking for a ls takeout cam or an aftermarket?

I'd say he's looking for a aftermarket. But not opposed to a takeout if the price is right and good condition(obviously).

Another vote for BTR. I called them on my new motor build ..we discussed the buggy specs.....and they suggested their stage 2 cam.

Super nice people and very knowledgeable

Also if your getting new lifters check your lifter trays and make sure they have a good tight fit....you dont want that lifter to be able to wiggle in there. New trays are cheap and will save s cam...just make sure to get the OEMs if you need them.

I have a BTR stage 4 V2 truck can in my 6.0, it's pretty peppy. I have had stage 2,3, and 4. They are all nice can, with good manners for off-road use
