Been looking for a while to depart the full body world and poor visibility and something more tailored to me than an out of the box rig. I have built 2 backhalfed jeeps and while both worked great, it didn't seem like enough.

Had someone offer me a good bit of money for the last one that led to another full body, full frame purchase.

This worked well for what it is but I didnt like the seating position with fitting corbeau ultra ss wide seats and keeping the cage line below the top of the windshield frame. Visibility sucked also with a full dash coming up another 4" over the cowl with the windshield folded down and I just didn't like the cage.

That leads me to decision time. On one hand I have a nice jeep, that works well, on tons with a v8 and linked on all 4 corners with coilovers... but I don't like any of it above the frame.

Pics and more to come soon..

I decided to keep the frame since it has already been plated in and out with 3/16" and a really nice foundation that already has the drivetrain hung and link geometry figured. Wheelbase is set at 118" which should work perfect for what I ride.

Placed some 2x6" box tube for the rockers/ boat sides and started bending tube...

Built in the driveway with a miller welder, converted jd bender and portaband. Neighbors are cool. They know where to come when they need a hand with something.
