That looks like an 8.8 case. Be aware that the open 8.8 case is really weak. The Aussie will add a lot of traction but the 8.8 cases are much weaker than many other stock open diffs.

How much is a full spool for it? I wouldn't run nothing less then a full spool when you decide to upgrade again.
Right now, it's a dual purpose rig. The older rear end was welded... I didn't much like it. I only plan on spooling it now when it goes to trailer queen status.If cheap is the goal then spool it or weld it. But a spooled rear turns much worse than a Detroit or Aussie(or similar).
