Concerning Reiter--up and coming.

Oh and one last thing. What's up with all the commotion about going up Poop Shoot? I'd personally be more concerned about going backwards or down Stair Step ( or Step Up, what ever it's called.)

:thud:

did an alternate route ever get worked out? i'm not going to wade through 18 pages of bs in all the posts. there is an old ATV trail, that appeared to be repunched through last season, or at least the blackberry bushes were finally trimed back that accesses that trail 142 from the parking lot. it's wider than the quad width trail behind the railing at the top of 142. It appears to be rarely used, and could be a viable canidate for vehicles that are less modified.

there's an exit trail between stair step and poop shoot, not that it's a lot easier.

the red line is the hardly used trail, that could be looked at to see if it could be widened to fit jeeps and toyotas.

If you would have read only a few posts up you would have seen that we looked at every possability to make something work up in that area on saturday.

There is nothing that can be done without major work (alot of $$). Plus there is an issue with a private land ownership boundry that is not far off the road(Between the lower pit and the road) that also hampers any easy access.

We walked a portion of that hill side. There is no easy access in there. Plus there is a water feed down in that ravine that feeds right into the fish hatchery and that trail drops right into the camp area that is planned for closure.

You don't have to take the stair step mike---you take the access trail up to the road that is above the rock face.

If you can't run Sac-up or go up and down PS, maybe your rig does not belong on the upper trails.

Yes, you can run sac up but that makes it alot longer to get out. next time you are there--run all the way up to the index lookout after hitting alot of trails in between, come back down. Once you are at the Y for sac up/poopchute, think to yourself how tired you might be and the length of time you will still have to spend to get back to the tow rig. I know myself I am ready to get back to the tow rig and load up.

Also ask yourself this mike what about the smaller rigs who are not street legal, small tires who you see alot on the upper areas, run tree trail and maybe the power lines/hill climbs. So is it fair to exclude them? I am not in any way trying to start a battle because thats dumb just trying to show you a different prospective on it.

don't know which trail you were talking about i was refering to the access trail to the road above the rockface, that is between the poop shoot and stair step, so that horus didn't have to go down stair step... that has been there for at least 16 years since i started going to reiter.

My bad---you were talking upward, not down ward,lol...

Because there is sorta trail betwen the poopcute and the stairstep down the hillside.

You have a very good point Crash. I thought about that after I posted. After a day of Stair Step to Rhinoland, Grumpy's, and Cable capped of with some hill climb madness I'm beat and usually hit the road back to the main pit. It would kinda suck to have to run Sac-up or Poop Shoot just to get back to my new tow rig:;.

As for the smaller tire guys your right there too. It just seems to me that the bulk of those rigs are street legal, or reasonably so. I never get hassled daily driving my junk. But if law enforcement's aim is to be particularly anal about it they would probably stop me. Even with my giant full coverage mud flaps. :D

Horus brings up a good point. My rig is 'legal' to the point of having Mud Flaps, Fenders, correct lighting (mostly), tabs, windshield, etc...

but are the cops going to be sticklers and look for things like a license plate light, or take out a measuring tape and see if your bumper is ~30" when it is really 34" ? This is what worries me.

Thanks for looking at both sides of it mike :awesomework:

Thats just it--we don't know. Just look at it as driving down the road. Some times you get that one LEO who's in a bad mood or whatever.

so will it mainly be the snohomish county sheriffs department? or the state patrol? i'll guess that it is the sheriffs department, i'd rather deal with the local sheriffs department.
