Anybody know if randy's is out of them or not?

I am gutting my front end and found the bearing surface for inside the spindle is pretty mauled up.

Yukon axles are garbage. I have one run on a new "hardcore" outer and the u-joint cap spins in the ear already.
The Hardcore shafts are no better than the stuff they sold before. I seem to twist or break one every trip lately.

I don't run small shafts....

Calling LRZ now, on hold again.......................................

He starts work @ 8:30 and left a message.

It's nice having Daren on IM so I can just bug him whenever. :D

And FWIW, I'm running Yukon 35sp D60 shafts and have yet to have any issues. 37" krawlers and heavy right foot.

I run the yukons and long drive flanges with the 44 boggers and a heavy foot an no problems at all so far

The Yukon quality control is hit and miss. Some guys break the shafts on the 1st run, and sometimes they last for years.

Ive seen bobby twist them off with the machine.

When he paints a line down the length of the shaft that is straight, then it gets broken and the line is now twisted like a barber pole it makes me wonder, " if you were close to the point of breaking it and didnt, it would still have permanat damage (twist) that would not be seen unless torn down.

Bobs shafts always would break and the line was returned to straight like before. Meaning it could be taken almost to the point of failure and return to normal.

I guess the upside is the yukons cant store enough energy to kill a detriot as much.:haha:

Seems like the 60 guys aren't having any issues. Is the manufacturing prosess that much different between the 44 and 60 stubs or is the size difference enough to make up for the lack of strength?

It is getting old watching guys with Dana 30s wheel harder than me. Not to mention when their shafts break they do so with a metallic rifle shot snap and everyone yells "whoa whoa whoa ha ha, busted." I know I broke a shaft when an onlooker tells me to lock my front axle back up because one tire quit spinning. "Your locker is off." No cool noise or anything, they just let go.

I am seriously thinking about going back to stock outers. Keep the Yukons as spares in case I need front drive to get back to the trailer without it taking all day.

:booo:

We can talk about this tomorrow, but I have some interesting developments for you.
