New shop tools!

A buddy of mine is moving from the sultan area up to Arlington and he said it was time to get rid of some stuff he had been hanging onto.. a few things I picked out that I wanted so he gave them to me. One is a older model (unsure of the model due to no serial plate) W.F. Wells & Sons band saw that needs some love and will be good as new. The other is a floor mount Davis & Wells cabinet jointer for drilling dowel pin holes. I have other plans for it.

I will post pics soon of that they look like and the build up. :beer:

So as far as my research has gone I have called the W.F. Wells & Sons guys and I will be sending them pics of the saw tomorrow along with posting pics here so they can ID the saw for me and hook me up with some parts.

The boring machine, uses threaded drill bits right now and has one that is nice and tight in there. Once I get that out I plan on putting a jacobs chuck, or something of the like, in there. As of now I have found that the spindle on this machine will accept either of these chucks:

Jacobs Chuck: 36B with 3/4″ x 16 tpi

Supreme Chuck: 9F 3/4″ x 16 tpi

The saw looks like the same one my buddy has in his fab shop it works great!:awesomework:

The wells saw is one of those saws that has virtually remained the same since it was introduced. We have one made in the late 70's that still works like a charm. You going to make a notcher out of that other relic?

That's the thing about old equipment, It was built to last. :awesomework:

Yes sir! Notcher is what it will be from now on.... I just need to get a chuck for it and build a table that will have degree marks on it. :awesomework:
