Having a 7.3 is fun...timing is great

I dont see the common rail dodges or duramax going up...???

That's what being blind does to ya, you miss these things :fawkdancesmiley:

They haven't gone up as much, because they didn't drop like a rock like the 7.3's and VP trucks did. But they have all climbed.

Doing drag link tie rod ends and shocks and sway bar bushings this weekend. I'll never own a different tow rig. And I can afford a 2014 whatever I want. Nick my advise would be to run that tuner on lowest position above stock or keep it out. TS can uncork some fuel but the stock injectors are only rated for 90cc.but I believe in reliability not blowing smoke.

Or you can run it on high setting and realize you'll smoke a clutch or want injectors then its dual hpop time then turbo time......it never ends whether its a Cummins powerstroke or duramax.

Nicks truck doesn't blow any smoke until its about do for an oil change. Hell it's the only diesel truck I've seen the oil stay clean after it gets changed. I'm certain it has injectors

Lol, his auto is built. Wanna say the tranny shop said the truck will never make enough power to blow it:D she kicks like a mule:cool:

This.
I loved the 2012 & 2013 crewbusses of ours but I just cannot bring myself to have an auto. I am thinking of having a bellhousing and flywheel cut for a 6.7 and selling kits to swap a manual in. I have to figure out the pedal assembly first.

I'd consider buying a 6.7 in a couple years if they came in a manual.

I got the F4TZ sensor from Ford on my way home. Externally there is no difference from the F6TZ. Which is odd, i'm not sure if I just got a incorrectly packaged F4TZ but it had the same coarse thread as the F6TZ.

So I started looking at the motor and noticed where the sensor threaded into the head, there was a standoff/fitting. Decided to pull it out, sure enough it was an adapter to go from the fine thread of the head to the coarse thread of the old sensor.

Not sure how/why that set up was on there but after pulling it, the new sensor threaded right in.

CEL is off with the new sensor, and the truck feels alot better.

I've seen that adapter before. It had to do with buying a cheap china brand ICP and not having the correct threads. Cant believe I missed that while looking at your engine.

No big deal, sucks I spent a bunch of time on Saturday driving around but now I know. And the truck runs great. :awesomework:

Haha! I WAS on the right track, Kinda! :redneck:
I too have seen that adapter, but it has been 3 yrs since I have been in the field doing retail repairs, so I forgot to mention to look for it as a clue... I think a little air gets trapped in the adapter that never really goes away---causing massive spikes in the pressure readings, which eventually kills the sensor. (Just a theory though)

Glad to hear it is on the mend. :awesomework:

Well the truck clicked off over 1400 miles this weekend, roughly 13000 pds total between truck, camper and gear.

She did good. The BFG's howl like a mother at 70 MPH, and the camper adds a ton of wind noise so it was a bit loud in the cab but that was my only complaint.

She ran about 9.5 MPG, which isn't bad for the weight, and its a lifted 1 Ton on 35's with a big windsail strapped to her.

Oh and as Gavin would say, I was driving her like I was sponsored. I just hated going under 60 up the passes. So kick OD off and let her eat, she pulls nice at about 3K, 15-20 pounds of boost, and the EGT's at about 1100*.

Air bags are in the future.

And I've decided Washington State has ***** Mountain Passes, Vantage was always the big pass in my mind. Until pulling Shasta. Good fun.

Just a picture I snapped at one of the fuel stops.
