From looking at the photos of cut tires with whole lugs cut out, it appears that they do this with a hot tire groover fro all the little marks. But that could take days to do a set of 4. Cutting sipes I get, but removing whole knobs??

Is that the way they do it or do they use some other means to remove the knobs then finish it off with the groover?

I've looked for how to videos on this but only found simple grooving.

I used one of those multi tools with the vibrating blade. Just sharpen the blade with a file and it will lob the whole lug off in seconds. It took me about 20 to 30 minutes a tire. It was the first time I've ever cut any.

I've only got two rides on them so far but they have not chunked off at all and show no signs of doing so. They dig like a mother ****er! I noticed that Interco has them back up on their website. I am giving serious consideration to putting another pair on the front and selling my TSLs. If they would only sell a 44" sticky with SX sidewalls I would be in hog heaven. I see why they're non-highway tires though. One of them is completely egg-shaped.

I love the slightly skinnier Bogger. They are $15 cheaper a tire this time too

I was going to New Orleans to visit some family next weekend anyway. If I get them I'll probably just pick them up then. If anyone else wanted some I could pick them up and bring them with me to Shamrock. (That goes for just about any tire at Interco in stock at their Rayne, LA facility.)

Thanks. Those are some good ideas. The hot chisel looks pretty slick. What is that pneumatic cutting tool? Chain saw isn't too bad if you are just going straight across.

Some years ago I tried squaring off the knobs on a dirt bike rear tire to get more life using a saws-all . It worked but took for ever. Later I bought a Knobby Knife which is like a soldering iron with a blade on it. That worked much better for dirt bike tires but I wouldn't want to try and slice off a whole Bogger knob with it.

Maybe one of these days someone will produce an electric heated chisel tool or a tool like a groover but with a bigger sharpened loop to take off more meat.

A tool like this buy a little thicker straight blade and you can cut the small lugs off of all 4 boggers in a matter minutes. I'm talking 5/ 10 minutes each tire. :****:just take a hand file and sharpen the blade
