    241/205 crawler box

I'm running a Strong Box from Behemoth between my 4L80e and Ford 205. Buggy is on 39" reds with 5.13 gears. I love it. We do more slow technical crawling so the 5.4:1 in low/low is where I spend most of the time. The 205 rarely gets shifted into high. On access roads, I just shift the Strong Box...

    Wolf Caves ORV

Great Times! Great people! I don't think I want to rip the panels off my rig trying to squeeze through Right Turn Clyde, and I'm pretty narrow. Nothing like 40 grit sandpaper to test the capability of a rig.

    Superduty Dana 60 front end

No. The knuckle and inner C on the 450/550 axles are quite a bit larger. (And heavy!)

Ordering a new trailer, need opinions!

I see those at the Richie Bros Auction in Lake Worth all the time. Always brand new. I've been hoping to catch one going cheap, but hasn't happened yet. The ones I see seem to be plenty heavy built, with drive over fenders and extra wide decks. I think one thing to watch on new trailers, is...

    TX Vacation

These are all good suggestions. I would add Hamilton Pool out in Dripping Springs to the list. There are kayak and canoe rentals on lake Austin, and there is a walking path that goes around most of it. The water was up over the path in several spots this last weekend, and I think the rental...

    Binge Worthy TV Series

Only two I currently watch: Vikings Game of Thrones Something about armor, swords and axes that I just like. Past addictions: Entourage Californication Dexter Wouldn't really recommend them for anyone now, but I thought they were "cool" at the time.

    Trailer tech?

Provided the axles you have, or are purchasing, come with the spring perches already welded on, I don't see why you can't build the deck while you wait. If purchasing, the spring perch width is usually listed. Just set frame width to match spring perches, and start building. I would try to put...

Where to get Drive shaft parts and or builder?

I get parts from http://northerndrivetrain.com/ if you're thinking of building your own.

ANYBODY ELSE HAD TROUBLE WITH HERO TRANSFER CASE

I would think a big PTO dyno could work for testing. ??

    Parts washers

I use straight diesel in mine. It cleans pretty fair, but you have to blow everything off to get the "dry" look / feel. It's about time to change it out, at which point I will be going to a mostly mineral spirits mixture. You can just fill the reservoir with 10-20% water. The cleaning solution...

    2013 Tahoe return to center

I heard of someone trying to rebuild their steering box one time, and they ended up with a similar situation. In the process of putting seals in it, they got something out of wack, causing it to completely loose the self-centering they normally have. New steering box fixed the problem. I can't...

    What is a good multimeter?

I've been using this one for over 10 years. It gets dropped a lot and has spent a night or two out in the rain. It has two replaceable fuses. I have had to replace them twice because I forgot to switch settings when changing my test approach. I'll buy another if this one ever quits. It also...

am I wrong or are other people stupid?

I had a similar problem, because I am running a 263/205 doubler. My 4l80e did not have the ring in the rear of the transmission. It was out of a 2001 3/4 ton 4x4. I used all of the stock computer and harness. My solution was to take the speed sensor and ring out of the stock 263 transfer case...

    Craftsman wrench

Another good thing about the Gearwrench brand ratcheting wrenches, is that almost every tool truck can and will warranty them even if you didn't buy from them. At least our Snap-On, Matco, and Cornwell guys will here.
