The RCVs it had in it?

And I probably missed it, but what kind of power does that thing make?

Yea. Twisted them at both ends and replaced with a new set before they broke although I learned after the fact that the RCV axles will live with twisted splines for quite awhile. New owner got the axle with the new set and the twisted ones as spares. The new ones had just a few rides, I never pulled them to check their health before I sold it. They were the 4340 version, not the upgraded 300m.

Random RCV question i have messed with 60 shafts but did you have problems with the inner shaft popping out of the bell and breaking at the snap ring? or did yours have the square snap ring?

Never. Could be a setup issue. If you cycle my steering full lock to lock there is literally zero plunge or pull (at least to the naked eye) so it shouldn't be popping out. And that is with a 10" ram.

Mine did this a few months ago..had the old snap rings, both shafts were twisted and boogered. Took 6+ weeks for new shafts to get to me, new snap rings looks to have solved it. On another note, I went 3 plus years without taking the shafts out and they looked great otherwise.

Not to hijack the thread but that's exactly what was happening on my Dana44 set. I broke two short side shafts right at the clip. I'm building a CJ now with a 60 and will likely go back to RCVs as their customer service was great.

Any clearance issues with the steering?

I ended up going with the Raceline 17x9.5s w/4" backspacing, got a deal I couldn't pass up. I got a **** hair of clearance at the arm. I'll keep an eye on it and if it seems to be rubbing excessively I will have the arms redesigned to bring the heim more inboard but still have a hole to run a long bolt for double sheer. It's a smooth surface there though and even if they do kiss I don't see it being a big deal. I can steer lock to lock though and the tire just barely kisses the link at full lock if I'm cranking on it. So I'm happy about that. I ended up being 88" wide overall and gained exactly 2" under the pumpkin.
