Hey fellas got another one here that's got me puzzled

History behind it...ran when parked obviously lmao

Sat for couple years

Sat without an iac in the throttle body

Prior owner "borrowed" distributor to diagnose another motor but it didn't help so he stuck it back in engine

I finally got it timed right and put new iac in it

Got good fuel pressure at 65 psi in the rail

Motor fires up but soon as it starts it runs away I mean revs to the got damn moon like it gonna come apart!

What am I missing?

Throttle linkage all moves freely and tb is actually pretty clean

Any words if wisdom??

Sounds like maybe the iac is run all the way in and not working? Guess I would start there since it has been messed with.

Giant vacuum leak? Like maybe the booster hose is off? :dunno: Take the IAC off and plug the hole where it goes. if it will barely idle or stall, then the valve is obviously wide open. Then you just got to figure out if its bad, or being commanded wide open by the ECM.

Crazy I had the exact issue one time at Morris Mountain. There was a twist lock type of vaccum port thing on the back of the intake manifold that had popped out.
