Till we FINALLY move in our new house. A lot of people have asked for pics of it, so I went out there today to check on progress and took a few. We bought the lot back in 2005, so it has been almost 3 years till we finally move in. We started building last July, so 9 full months. Our builder is Green Construction, who is the owner/developer of the neighborhood. House is fully custom, we found the plans in a magazine, changed them a little and had them drawn. My wife picked out everything in the house, and I mean everything. She did an excellent job!

Some specs:
2900 sq ft finished space (probably 1500 more we could finish later)
2+ Acres with creek and power line trails in the back yard. I have some killer climbs in my back yard
4 bed, 3.5 bath
Main Level Garage for 2 cars, Basement shop with single 14ft door. Can stack 2-3 rigs in the shop, and tons of workspace. 9ft ceilings in the basement.
Fully wired for surround sound inside and out. Built in enclosure for 46" TV, seperate audio component cabinet off the den to house all electronics
Huge deck with a porton screened and a portion open
Fiberglass Pool with a hot tub to come in the future
Butler's Pantry/Wet Bar with Sink, Fridge and Ice Maker

I could go on and on....

So before you fawker start with your can't hide money ****. I will say we have been planning and saving for this place for 3 years (the last 10 months have been rent/bill free and that goes a long way). We put a good bit down and paid for the pool. We borrowed the rest, so you can't hide credit. We plan to pay the 2nd off in 5 years, which will leave is with a very small payment for the remainder. This is way more house than we need, but we love having people over and we wanted to build a 10+ year house, meaning we don't have to move for at least that long if ever. We can have kids in this place and have plenty of room to add on if needed down the road.

I plan to really make my shop space work and have it setup for the work I do on my rig. I have gotten a lot of ideas from John G's shop, so that helps a lot. I will be very happy to have my jeep and all my tools in one place finally!!!!

That's a lotta damn brick. Support your local unions. Not a lot of bricks used up here. Usually just fronts and people side the rest. more popular in the south I have noticed

Yeah everything around Bham is 4 sides brick, our last was a garden house and it was 3 sides brick. Lot of brick in the south!

Actually I think you can hide money in that house, I kept asking my wife if that is what they were doing to justify the cost ;D

That is some pad!!! COngrats. It must be a fullfilling feeling to finally see it coming together. Cant wait to see it in person.

I see the makings of a sick Fitty track.

Really nice house, Matt. Congrats and looks like you went about the expenses the right way. thumb.gif

If you follow that rock pile back towards the woods it drops off into a creek. When my brother in law and I were out there clearing it we found some crazy rock ledges and boulders coming out of the creek towards our house. I am not sure my rig would even make some of them, so that are pretty damn intense. I plan on cutting a few trails out back for sho.

All you guys in town for XRRA stop by and have a beer on Friday or Saturday night. Louis and Joel are staying, and I think Louis will have his rig there. We will have food and drinks all weekend long!!!

Man I guess I need to start selling more crack  Nice house, dont some of you guys need buggys built thumb.gif Congrats on the new home loller.gif

Mike, that house is my buggy! We went over on budget enough to build a real nice buggy. That is the main reason I put my buggy desires on hold. More important **** to worry about.

I will also say that we hated the process of building this thing and will NEVER do it again. It was the cause of so many fights and arguements and staying in the budget was a nightmare. In the end it will all be worth it when we sit on our back deck and drink cocktails with the stereo on. We are looking fwd to having a lot of parties this summer around the pool and deck. Gonna be a blast.

Man Matt... That is a VERY nice crib with room to grow for a fam :drinkers:

Do you have an HOA?

Yeah we do, but the builder runs it. I already told them that I am storing my trailer in the back yard on the edge of the wood line. I am going to make a path in the backyard to back it down from the upper driveway. The HOA is not very strict, but they have some rules.

damn big money thats nice don't you need a small family to live in your basement. rent free pepper.gif
