Are the 2001 duramax's worth a s#%t??!!

Bout to buy a Dmax and found a good deal on a 01! Just wanting to know the pros and cons?

they are "ok", just like any early 2000s diesel.

Early Dmaxs are notorious for injector problems.

My diesel guy swears by the 04 and up duramax. Says they are the most dependable and he is a die hard ford guy.

I have a 01 duramax . Its a great truck but the injectors went out at 88k miles .

Supposedly ubgraded and rebuildable.

Got a 02 LB7 Never had the first bit of trouble out of mine. But I do change my fuel filter, every time I change the oil. Every 5k
There is a few local diesel mech around, an they say that is the biggest problem with the injectors. People dont change the fuel filter an screws up the injectors. Thats what they say. Seems to have worked for me.
