Atlas transfer case

just placed my order with ccor went ahead an got the 300m outputs to go with it!!!! now i just gotta wait about 2 weeks for it to be shipped.


i sure am glad ramen noodles come in so meany different flavors cause after that lick ima be eating them for awhile haha

I am currently 3:1 in the case with rockwells which puts me around 20:1. I have 400hp. I can romp it in low range in any gear but sometimes I do wish I had a bit more wheel speed in 3rd gear. The thing is that I can't always hold 1st gear high on a steep hill with traction which is 16.7:1. So that means that somewhere between 16.7:1 and 20:21 is a small zone where I wouldn't be happy which is why I think that 13:1 is still a bit too high for 400hp.

But 20:1 would be WAAAY too low with 500hp like you say you are going to. I would definitely want closer to 13:1 if I had 100 more hp. Hence my suggestion to do 3:1. I think you could live with a slight lack of power (if it even existed) in 3rd high until you bought another 100hp.

My personal theory is that 17:1 is my ideal ratio. But without putting Gearhart gears in my axles (which I can't afford) and without going to a Hero (which I also can't afford) that ratio is impossible to achieve.

This is all right on. I'm 4.56 x 3.8 case = 17.33 and as a trail rider (not a bouncer) I love it and frankly never wished for more wheel speed. Typically I just leave the transmission in D and let it eat, I hardly have to shift. I do have a 4 speed Atlas though so I got 4.56 x 2.7 = 12.31 when I want to act a fool. My girlfriend's TN Mojo buggy is setup with 4.56 x 3.0 = 13.68, I've just cruised around in it a few times but it definitely will have tons of wheel speed, I could see her probably wanting to drop it into 1st for technical rock crawling more than you might with my buggy but other than that it's right in the sweet spot between crawling and peeling out. We are both over 500hp.

haha yeah I bet your right. Those torque numbers are :tc status.

Did I mention that this race would be planned right after a hard rain on an muddy uphill slope.. :stir:

That is what the sheet looked like from mast when I purchased the cam for my motor anyway.

They are Mast sheets. Crank #s. My engine is a hand built forged stroker and hers is the drop in kit. I don't know many guys making 530 HP to the ground in a rockcrawler and who compares those numbers anyway other than car guys? Way too many variables.
