I was laid off Feb 2003 and have never been called back. Got married in April 2003 and have been working odd cash paying jobs since then. My wife has a good job and I am considered a stay home dad. My oldest child was born in 2005, 2nd 2006, and last 2012. Once my 2 oldest started school I started looking for a part time job. Started as a valet 2011 at the local hospital and worked there about 18months until they discontinued the service. While working as valet I picked up another part time job as a truck driver 2012 hauling hospital equipment a day or 2 a week. Been driving the truck and started a part time job as a mechanic for a local used car dealer last December. That being said, I usually am the one to run taxi service for 3 kids, if they are sick or need help with homework I am the designated parent. Right now I am listening to the today show, typing this, and keeping an eye on my 4yr old. My wife pays the bills and I make the "extra" play money for the family and cover most extra unexpected expenses. My experience has taught me this: 1. Not all dads can do what I do, some need to work. 2. I love my wife and I know she loves me, even in the arguments. 3. I understand more of the suffering servant than the average person cause I feel I need to be busy when holding my child for a nap, or its to cool for them to be out with me. 4. Let the words roll off like water on a ducks back, they have not walked in my shoes. 5. If I had a real job I could not serve in the same capacity as I do now.
