Cj5 really worth building???

I got a cj5 on a good deal but then got to thinkin about it and talking to some buddies with the short wheel base and really crappy frame is it really worth my time to build it... I know it's a jeep but anybody think the same or am I mistaken???

We'll, if you want a lil trail cruiser to putt around in, yeah it's worth "building"

If you want to build a hill killin, rock mauling, pig squealin, mountain death rocket.... Then a cj5 probably wouldn't be my first choice :indianajones:

In my opinion .....
By the time you are through with it you will pretty much have all Chevy runnin gear to make it worth a dang.
Buy a cucv an beat the fenders off it then swap runnin gear to what u want.
If your partial to the lil jeep....then build it. I like them, just none of the parts that came in them

If your 6ft or taller your legs will be crammed in the dash. Just a thought

I am in the process of building up a CJ 5.....cage is going through the engine bay, removable steering wheel and I am only 5'9" tall.

My 304 is plenty healthy enough and the T18 is plenty strong enough. The rest was junk.

I agree that I'd build it. They make some good looking trail jeeps IMO.
