I have no clue if this is what happened but on the 99 - 04 axles the original UB's had that issue. It would happen on stock trucks driving down the road. They revised the design and it didn't happen any more after that. Then on the 05+ UB's they got even beefier / better. That issue is what led to all the "UB eliminator" kits from a few manufacturers that no one buys any more and aftermarket UB's.
