engine wont stay running

just installed 350 vortec in a jeep tj and the only problem i got is it wont start unless you give it a little gas. you can reach in and hit the key and it will start for a split second than die, after you start it by giving it gas it runs perfect. any ideas what would cause this.

Check the idle air control valve.

pulled the idle air control valve and cleaned it, didnt help

Do you not have a way to hook a scanner up to the motor to check for codes ? I would say it is a IAC motor problem.

what pressure fuel pump are you running

using a stock fuel pump for a 2000 chevy truck. fuel pressures reading 60

Any vacuum leaks? I had a plug come out of my intake done the same thing. I could hear it while running.

i will check when i get off work in the morning. any chance it could be throttle position sensor

There is a large vacuum port on the back side of the intake. I have mine capped off, but it has popped off before and would not run right or stay running until hooked up or capped off oin my case.
