ever tried to paint the anodized part of a shock?

Has anybody on here ever tried to paint the anodized part of a shock? I want to change the color of mine but don't want them to look like crap

I think you'll have a hard time getting it to stick to the anno. You could try sanding it off or use easy-off oven cleaner. Basically any lye based cleaner will strip it. The best route though would be to just have them re-anno'd.

The place that does my anodizing has a 120$$ minimum, just for thought.
