help me identify my dana 44

the id tag was gone when i got the jeep, theres a number that says 620072 on top of the pumpkin. its a driver drop, High pinion 8 lug. either ford or j20?

been googling bom numbers and theres not a dana 44 that starts with 62..... they are all 60, 0r 61

my uneducated guess would be that this is a 1978 or 79 HD HP out of a f150 or 250? since its 8 lug disc brakes?

by the way the flat top knuckles came off a chevy....

Its a ford, if you want to get more specific there should be a number stamped into one of the tubes, post that up. It may be hard to find, but its there unless its been ground off.

This is my guess also, as the 78/79's have the cast section that is shown in this picture

Its a ford, if you want to get more specific there should be a number stamped into one of the tubes, post that up. It may be hard to find, but its there unless its been ground off.

i spent about 15 minutes looking for the stamped number on the tube.... nothing, i am sure someone decided it would of been a good idea to grind it off
