I am interested to see how many miles you guys put on your haulers before you have to spend big money (engine, trans, rear end, etc). We run our company trucks well past 200K but those are mostly unloaded highway miles going from farm to farm. Post up what you have and how many miles it has or you have put on it without a catastrophic breakdown...

Mine, 06 GMC sierra v6 manual trans 4x4, slow as Christmas. Had to pull one head off since an exhaust bolt sheared off and had an exhaust leak, about 70k? don't really remember. 152k on it now and keeps on ticking but 3rd gear is hard to find when it is cold.

Dad's 08 Avalanche LC9 5.3, 118k, Just finished replacing the cam and lifters since one of the AFM lifters crapped out, had pistons put in by GM at about 80k for oil consumption. He had all the dealer do all the maintenance on it till the 100k warranty ran out. Fawking hate that GM screwed these engines up. ::)

Buddy's 02 F250 7.3, 180k, just replaced the rear axle and ujoints, hub bearings. Rear axle was rebuilt the first time at 140k.

My old 94 suburban made it 212k on the original trans before I smoked it pulling a ski boat at 80 mph back from the lake, original engine was still in it at 340k when it was sold, I think it got a jasper rear around 150K?

My 01 7.3 had 180k on it when I sold it and the only thing it had was a waterpump replaced. Shoulda kept it!

My last was a 2000 7.3 6 speed. I replaced the water pump and the clutch twice but that was my neglect for not fixing the leaking hpop in a timely manner. Also did have to replace the clutch release fork at 80k due to a faulty design. I put a couple wheel bearing assemblies on too. I did ball joints at 90k.

01 7.3
Replaced the auto trans at like 150K I think.

Melted the turbo around 140K, apparently holding it wide open past 100mph for a few miles isn't the best idea..... :spin:

other typical stuff, unit bearings and ball joints, water pump and whatnot.

I have just over 230,xxx miles now. No signs of her giving up anytime soon.

2000 1500 SilverAdo with a 5.3

Original trans went around 170
Alternator around 190
Replaced the fuel pump at 250 just to find out the connector was bad
Totaled at 265

Still had all original steering, suspension, and driveline parts plus I only put brake pads on it once.

My 95 F-350 has 203,000 and it just got a new to me 5 speed. But other then that its just had glow plugs and a glow plug controller. Damned ol 7.3 keeps clickin along

96 F250 7.3 with 276k on it. I've had it a year and had to do a vacuum pump, IDM, and I put a true 4" straight pipe on it. I've put almost 10k on it just driving it to parks and occasionally to work. Could use new injectors and glow plugs.

My 00 7.3 got 2 injectors, valve cover gaskets, injector wiring, glow plugs and a fuel pump at 176k
Dads 06 6.0 got 2 injectors, glow plugs, glow plug harnesses and glow plug controller at 126k
You'd figure 6.0 parts are more expensive but motorcraft 7.3 injectors are around $50 more each

97 f-350 7.3 just under 256k, I've had it for 30k miles all I've really done is the clutch, glow plugs , and rear carrier when the LS decided to eat itself. Now that I've said Something catastrophic will happen next week.

Had a 93 7.3 idi with 310k on it when it died in a freak accident. The injection pump was starting to give me issues.

89 Dodge 12valve Cummins 2WD @ 396k....thats when the odometer stopped 6 years agi. Stock long block.....several alternators, clutches and under the knife now getting a nv4500 and d60. I also have a 98 12valve working on 270k.

Did u have to put a VP44 in it when you lost fuel pressure? Typically the injection pump fails when the lift pump fails as a result of a loss in pressure (VP44's are lubricated with fuel whereas P7100's are lubricated with engine oil).....wise decision on the lift pump on the VP trucks.

06 f250 4x4 6.0 power stroke.. Currently has 250k on it. Its had two injectors replaced, 1 alternator, I just did passenger side ball joints at 230k. Driver side still good. I finally blew the head gaskets at 210,000 running a big tune for a while and driving it like it owed me money. Had KEM do the studs and O-ringed the heads. No problems since then. Been a great truck really. Its gonna aleast see 300k before I get rid of it. Original trans still in it.

I bought mine in Jan of 2015 so I have had it a little over a year. PO did all the major work. Built auto trans, Air Dog, VP44, Lukes Link etc.

99 Ram 3500 24V Auto 4x4
Purchased: Jan 2015 - 231,000 mi

March '15 - Front Calipers and Pads - $120
March '15 - # 5 Fuel Feed line cracked - $40
June '15 - Airdog motor crapped out - Warranty $0
August '15 - Alternator and 2 Batteries - $600
August '15 - Starter - $115
December '15 - Windshield was pitted and cracked - $0
April '16 - Front Calipers, Pads and Lines - Thought I had a seized caliper but one line failed internally not letting fluid back out of the caliper so I just replaced everything - $160

Needs an AC Compressor and a Vac pump rebuild and is due for rear tires now but I'm at 260k+ now. I've got an older truck and these things will pop up, but its paid for and I got it without the Brodozer tax thanks to my buddy that had it before me.

The previous owner had installed a fuel pressure gauge. I was actually on my way home from buying a 5.0 engine for my cab truck when I noticed the gauge was on zero. I turned the key off and on while still rolling down the interstate, and the pressure returned. I had to do that numerous times over the hour or so home on that trip. I parked the truck and installed a FASS. No problems since and it still has the stock injection pump.

I forgot to add the track bar to my list. I replaced it with the Moog problem solver version about 5 years go.

I've had a couple V10 super duty Fords with a 6.0 Powerstroke in between that I chose to sell because I was losing sleep wondering when it was going to cost me an additional 5 grand. Sucks because she was very clean. Current V10 has 195k on it. Runs damn good but was told transmission was rebuilt by previous owner.

2004 F250 6.0 220,000 :woot:
one injector EGR delete NO PROGRAMER Daily driver/ hauler.

Get you some of that

2000 F250 7.3 automatic crew cab 4x4 with a hard life of horse trailer and bobcat hauling in the shop now getting a new transmission at 325k miles :****:

04 Dodge 2500. Bought new 12/26/03. Currently 220k. Pulls a trailer (either my job trailer 5-6k or my jeep and carhauler 7k) probably 60% of its life. Did nothing til 150k, then injectors, clutch at 180k and some small stuff, alternator, water pump, both sun visors, ball joints and all brakes and rotors. I have no complaints, based on the price of new trucks, I think I'll drive it til the wheels fall off, then put me back on and keep driving it!!
