KOH 2021

Broady just posted a ton of pictures on Facebook. Looks like they are having a good time. Beautiful sunset at the end of the post too. I want to go one year.

damn straight.

I wonder how many 4600 cars actually show up to RACE and not just start the race to say "I ran KOH!!!"

You have to be pretty committed to actually build a 4600 car and enter the race, knowing that you start at the end of the pack and are going to get your ass beat during hours on end in the desert with a car that's definitely over abused.

If someone is going through all of this, I think they are in it to actually RACE and not for bragging rights.

Either way, there are 28 cars crossing the starting line (that's 28 cars in the whole country) and in my eyes, they have automatic bragging rights, even if they DNF on the qualifying course.

I don't know man, I've seen some people with deep pockets do a lot more expensive things for a lot less fun/experience. But yeah 4600 is probably not the class you'd see many of those types in.

I think you got what I was saying. And I agree with you, deep pockets don't buy talent.

Race ops located at my house. Big tv is the Ultra4 TV/Premium coverage. Smaller tv is the free YouTube stream. The multi screen is the Production Cameras available on the Ultra4 TV/Premium. Unfortunately the Production Cameras are not selectable, yet.

It's information overload and I love it!

^You need a bigger TV lol

Haha. I haven't bought a tv since they went to flat screens. Every few years I'd talk my dad into buying a bigger tv and me getting the hand-me-down tv. His last tv purchase was a 65" but won't be able to talk mom into getting rid of that tv anytime soon.

If i am looking at it correctly. Only two people finished the 4600 class and only one in time. Brutal.

That's correct-ish. Ultra4 extended the finish time by 1 hour + Start time, so everyone listed as DNF technically finished in the extended time + Start time.

Lots of the 4600 racers got hung up behind a broken 4500 and 4800 class racer in Outer Limits and timed out.

Tom Wayes and co-driver James Schofield (from Alabama) had a wicked rollover/wreck in which two other racers (Cameron Steele and Raul Gomez) stopped on course for a couple of minutes and pulled Wayes and Schofield out of the car completely unconscious and Schofield with some broken bones.

Update from Ultra4 for both of them:
Tom Wayes has concussion.

James Schofield has broken collarbone, knee and back break from L2, L3, T5 & T6. He is going for another CT scan and then surgery on Collar bone and Knee.

Steel and Gomez stopped which was the right the to do for sure I'm glad they did. Slawson was not around at the time so that obviously helped his race and resulting win. I would love to see Waynes, Gomez, Gomez on the podium and watch the party that it would start.

Send some prayers up for the Schofield family. His wife and children and here at home and James is in the hospital on the other coast with a rough course ahead of him.

I think when the drivers stop to help they get that time back.

They do get a time credit back. Ryan Miller and another racer stopped on course for Nate Geese's rollover in the desert and Ryan got credited with 7 minutes of time, which bumped him up a few finishing spots.

After watching the desert races and then the Ultra4 races, the Ultra4 racers seem to stop and check on their fellow drivers after a rollover etc whereas the desert drivers tend to keep on going. Least that's what the eye in the sky (Production view) showed during the various races.
