What do you prefer?

Also..Mounting Idea's and wiring tips to get the most out of them..

Most lights you buy will come with a kit which includes wiring harness, relay, switch & instructions.

Regardless of brand most aftermarket lights use the same "styles" of off-the-shelf bulbs, which meams the big difference comes from Brand name, quality of the enclosure, lens and mounting.

Regardless of what you get for your DD take the time to aim them properly. I have to go this with the ones on my Dodge. I usually wait for dark and then go out behind Fred Meyers in their parking lot so you can get the vehicle on level ground and have some distance to play with.

Lights mounted up high on the roof and window pillar work for off-road use but you'd be pushing your luck with the Man having them on while on the street.

Wiring takes patience, and a lack there of will lead to electrical problems in the future.

Fixed...:awesomework:
The cheaper lights you buy at discount auto stores are usually lucky to even supply a fuse holder,or the ones in the kits are junk...

For the rock lights, I presume you're mounting them under the rig, or in the fenders somewhere??? You can apply your links method using relays on a cheaper set of lights to get the most out of 'em...I wouldn't spend alot of $ on those, as they will tend to get damaged....

My wife was complaining about the stock headlights on her LX450 and wanted to add a pair of driving lights. Started looking around and found out about these:

I installed 'em w/o her knowing and she instantly noticed a difference. Got them in my Cruiser and my Integra as well.

Couple if thoughts:

Some vehicles (jeeps) come with a 35/55w headlamps. Your low beam is only 35 watts. Install Silverstar OEM lights from Schucks. Silverstars have a 55/65w bulb and are noticeable brighter. They're about $20 each.

Stock TJ fog lamps are amazing good for low speed wheeling. Glass lens, spring mounted. You might be able to get a set damn cheep at a wrecker.

Good topic.:awesomework: I have had a set of the large warn lights for years and they have held up amazingly well but I'm making some changes and the warns will probably go. Now I'm looking for a good light in a small package to mount in the upper corners where the windshield would go...

Here's what I put on my DD Cherokee-

For wheeling use these-

Be careful what you use on a street rig, I've had a lot of trouble with the man over fog lights and driving lights. Anything not OEM may give you trouble. *waits for armchair e-lawyers to tell me I'm wrong* Just my opinion based on my personal experience.

Thanks for the replys and Thanks Binder...I did a search and didnt see this topic covered...

Pat, I think Iam going to go with the cheap-O tractor lights for now...when I can afford the pia's or better lights I will buy them...

but more input is great!!

Don't waste your money. The tractor lights are stronger and brighter. And if you do somehow break them you can buy a few dozen more pairs for the cost of a single pair "Piaa's or better".

Or if you LIKE spending money you can get something like this-

Walmart in Spanaway has some pretty nice Hella driving light kits in stock. Just picked some up for my toy but haven't installed yet. Also Harbor Freight in Tacoma has the round black rubber tractor lights on sale for $5.99.
Check it out...........
