Oh wow, where do I start??

Well I woke up saturday morning hauled but over to the staging area to
see if anyone was running the trail.

Not a soul at all in the parking lot. So I hung around for about an hour,
ate some soup and waited some more. So at that point I was thinking well
maybe I could run the trail by myself. I didn't air down at all just slapped
it 4 lo and started to check it out. I went about 1/4 mile into the actual
trail before I decided I better not do this alone. The first hill at the
entrance was slimey and thick. I got up it, but with a lot of throttle. The
trail was pretty slimey the whole 1/4 mile I went in. So I turned around.

I ended up leaving a "Post-it" note at the staging area on the board. (Looking for a trail partner..etc...)
I then went back to our camp site ate some food, got the fire going, just
cracked open a beer and a jeep pulls up. They saw my post it note.
It was 83 CJ7. Lifted locked, and on 33"s I think. (John and Ed) So we
headed to the trail and started our adventure.

We ended up running into two guys both named Bob. Really cool guys,
they both had jeeps, a CJ7 and a CJ5. Both lifted and locked on 35"s. So
I had the newest vehicle out there.

The trail itself was not as tight as last year but still very tight. I ended up
crushing in my passenger door, ripped of my driver's side mirror again,
and wrinkled the window frame on both sides. But I was smart I dropped
the soft top before we even hit the trail.

Out of all the jeep's 3 out of 4 had to winch. can you guess who was the
only one who didn't have to winch??

I didn;t get very many pic's because I was to worried about breaking
crap instead of pictures, But here is what I have.

Warning sign at the trail head.

This is the only view spot on the trail. Your looking at Vancouver and a
cruise ship coming through the straight.

This picture doesn;t do much justice for the hill but, it's very wet,
slippery and pretty damn steep. This is the first hill the Cj's had to winch
up. One of the other guys (Bob) said oh we'll all have to winch up this
hill. So I slapped it in 2nd and floored it. Bounced off a few tree's , but I
made it up.

Then he got stuck again almost at the top. and had to pull cable again.

Bob taking a run before a nasty hill, Which he had to winch

Thats all the pic's I got of the actual trail. All in all I would say if you run
that trail you better have front and rear lockers and a winch. Especially if
it's wet out. For the most part I didn't use my front locker except on the
nasty hill's.

Here's some pics of the damage. First on passenger door.

Kinda twisted the door a bit. Now the doory doesn;t close right. I guess I'll have to fix that.

The passenger window side wasn't as bad. But a pair of vice grips fixed it. And I glued my drivers side mirror back on.

Ok thats all I got except for some family pics

Right on Jon sounds like you had a good time. So since we are pretty close is it worth going to for a day trip. I am kinda curious?

Yeh it's worth a day trip. It was 90 miles from my house to Lake crescent, then sadie creek is about another 10-15 miles away. One end of the trail is blocked, so at the end you have to trun around and do it again. But going back is a lot easier than going in. I would say going in to the turn around point took us 3-4 hours. But that was due to a lot of winching and BS'ing. I think without the BS'ing and winching , 1 way would take about 1-2 hours and coming back we did it in about 1 hour. It's mostly uphill going in.

But when ever your ready let me know, I'll go again. If for some reason my rig is down I ride shotty with ya. Hopefully the Bob's will be there, their a kick in the ass, but long winded..LOL
