ECORS is proud to partner with the Black Mountain Adventure Area and the KYMCs to bring you a fantastic Memorial Day weekend full of camping, racing, and 4×4 fun during the Southern Shine Crawl!

Guest appearance by Tim Smith from the show Moonshiners on Saturday May 25!!!! Come on out and watch the race and meet a fantastic TV personality!!! www.timsmithmoonshine.com

This event will be a timed 4×4 race event at the Verda fields just before you enter Evarts coming from Harlan. This event is open to all 4×4 enthusiasts. Current ECORS members will earn 25 bonus points just for competing that is added to their overall season point totals. The race will be set up similar to tournament style. The top 75% of each class and round moves on until there are 2 people left, then the top person from that final round in each class will be crowned the winner. For the race, you will be racing side by side with 2 rigs on the course at a time. You will run twice and your best lap time will be counted to determine who moves on to the next round. Its double elimination, so if your have a bad first run, you get a 2nd chance to move on to the next round!

The course will be set up to be a short-course type of track, approx. 1.25 miles long. Competitors will have to race over jumps, whoops, rocks, etc. and battle the clock to have the best time to keep moving on each round. At the end of the day, the top driver in each class will be crowned the champion and claim prizes!

If you want to come to Harlan to just ride and camp, come on out and enjoy the trails as they will all be open! If you want some good racing action and want to meet Tim Smith, come on to the Verda Fields for the day! ECORS will be putting on a small race to add more to the Southern Shine Crawl!!!

Where are the fields in relation to the park? I've been to BM plenty of times, but not sure where the verda fields are.

Re: Re: Southern Shine Crawl, Harlan, KY with ECORS short-course race

I just saw this and was really confused for a second. My brother in law owns a clothing line called "Southern Shine". I thought he up and started sponsoring rides all of a sudden. Haha
