tilt column

For those of you that run a orbital outside of the cab, how did you attach your u-joints? Do you weld them to the shaft? Do you use dowl pins so they can be serviced? Bailing wire and chewing gum?
I guess i'm just a cheep basterd and want to re-purpose a part down the line....thanks in advance...L

Weld one end (at orbital) and drill/stick a bolt thru on the other? or drill and bolt both ends. I wouldnt trust a dowel pin to stay in place. Use a bolt and nylock nut

Just a word of advise dont try to take the u joints out if you weld it made that mistake once I welded mine wrapped a wet rag around it

Ok, won't take it apart to weld..i'll bolt the sleeve on one end of the orbital and weld the rest, easy enough to cut it if it fails...L

It's a little stroked 5.0, runs like a raped ape, the wifey stays on the rev limiter, should run better in the buggie than it did in that heavy ass 66 EB
