I have the Van Alstine and I don't see how you could use a hotter groover. It will cut as fast and deep as you want it to.

What ever you buy make sure it's an instant hot, the ones you have to let heat up like an iron absolutely bring the suck.

Used a power saw for mine haha. A knife would have been a ton easier

I have the Van Alstine G1000 and love it!!! They have just came out with another one that doesnt have the controle box that seems to be a pain sometimes. Speedway motors has them both.
