I am gettin my rig ready for naches this year and started with building the front bumper w/ a winch mount. 1.5" tube and 1/4" plate for the winch mount itself. here's what i have so far... it is going to lead into a full exo coming off the existing main hoop.

as you can see i had to trim the grill a little bit, and i had to do away with the hood latch support that bolts to the core support behind where the winch is now. i am going to do away with the factory hood latch altogether and go to hood pins. the winch sits about 1/16" away from the lower core support crossmember. i am thinking of running some kind of tape of velcro or something on the back of the winch to avoid rubbing the paint off in case it moves enough to rub that crossmember. i am really happy with how far back i was able to get the winch to sit.

thats a cute bumper... no really post more pics when you get further along, good start, a winch is a must at naches this season with all the snow, which means MUD...

yeah, i'll be posting more pictures as the bumper takes shape, im still trying to figure out where to go from this point. since its tucked in so far and the plate is not much bigger than the winch, i am not left with a whole lot of options. but i've got some ideas.

Very nice! Damn simple too. Im curious to see what it ends up looking like tied into other stuff.

EDIT: Are there any braces under it (front to back), or is it just the tube and a piece of flat plate that spans the whole gap? Just curious as to what the under side looks like.

there is no further bracing, just the tube and plate. it will be tied into fender protection and such so i am not too worried about it. and i welded the whole perimeter of the plate.
