What to see, where to go?

Me and the wife are heading to blackwater Virginia area in a few weeks. Anything worth seeing in this area? This is a non wheeling, drive around spend a week in a slide in pop up sort of week. I want to stay at blackmountain on everts side on first night, Unless somebody has better suggestion. Looking for what to see, in S east KY, western side of Virginia, northern North Carolina, Eastern Tenn. Thanks in advance

Drive through the Little shepherd trail it starts not far from Putney or up in Cumberland comes out on top of Pine Mountain
