There are two types of tires.....BFG and Free.....If they don't say BFG on the side then you they better have been Free. :****:

39" red labels will out preform a 42" TSL on the trail 95% of the time. Best crawling/ Trail/ Comp./ tire HANDS DOWN! And as Cole has shown they are a pretty good bouncer/ rock racer tire as well.
BIBLE!

Toyota 4Runner body and frame....kinda. 5.3L ls motor, TH350, 203/205 doubler, tons, 4.56 gears, no bling, in the build up stage right now but need tires for mockup and the ol lady told me to get em.

Ive got a buddy that runs 39" reds on his little Yota buggy and it does good but its nothing that is like :woot: :gtfo: flashemifyougotem good......

He ain't drivin' it right then! :****:

It depends on how your driving style is. If you ain't trying to do rev limiting smoky burnouts on shitty terrain trying to mash yer motor up the side of Mount Everest, I say buy a used set of 39" Reds. And never look back. If you plan on blowing the tires off of your rig everytime you try to climb something like most the bouncers do, then go with a TSL.

That's my take on it. There is not a better tire made for my driving style than a BFG Red. My junk pictured below, and they are pretty damn big for a 39.

LOL, well I dont know about that but Im not a crawler type guy. I just have to kinda be cause I ride with a bunch of em. Ima hold my beer and watch this **** kinda guy.

Well, this is how I see it. TacomaJD has a sweet, well built rig. But, if it was on 39.5 TSLs it'd go "pretty good" ... that's it. On krawlers it does ****ing amazing. Chad's Zuki does **** on 37s sometimes that people on regular 44s wish they could do. Period.

Think about it. Why does John Force run the highest tech most sticky tire he can find? Instead of some street legal highway friendly tires developed decades ago?

Because he wants to ****ing win! And he'd be stupid not to use the best compound available

True dat ^^^ I always thought "to hell with spending all that money on Krawlers, I'll settle for TSL's" ......until I bought this rig with Krawlers already on it. ****'s a whole new ballgame. Go to the top, park, and drink beer while you watch others struggle to follow you.

i used to think hell with stickies. I'm not spending the money on them. Until a couple of toyota kept walking up stuff that i was having to beat the guts out of my 44"tsl's on.
I put my buggy on jack stand and sold the 44'' tsl's until i could afford the BFG's and haven't looked back since.

You can find some damn near new, in good shape, used BFG Reds for what you are going to give for some new TSL's or less. About a month ago, I was thinking about selling mine and buying a brand new set, just because that's cheaper than wearing these out then buying a new set outright....but I decided against it for now. Goforth priced me a used set for $2,100 and a brand new set for $2,700.

Used sets are on here often for cheaper than that and still have tons of life left in them. They don't wear out as fast as you think they would, because you don't have to spin the **** out of them to get up ****. They hook and go.

They also hook and find every week link in your driveline. :****:

I like to let it eat.....thats why I put a LS motor in it and didnt keep the 22RE. Been there done that.

A 4runner body, 5.3, doubler.

Leaf springs?

Not trying to be ugly but truthful, that is a crawler not a bouncer. I understand being leary about something new. maybe you could borrow a set of your friends reds then a set of tsls. Let the results dictate your decision.

I never said it was a bouncer....

4 linked rear, 3 linked front. No leaf springs, they left the building with the 22RE.

Im not trying to be a **** either but arent most of you guys pushing the Reds running smallish motors?

Maybe half. JohnG isn't, Cole damn sure isn't, kmcminn has a good solid 300hp, zayne is gonna have about 350-375 now. There are lots of rigs with up to 500 hp on stickies. Momentum (spelling?) Makes 1100 horsepower on stickies! That's well over 3x what most trail 5.3s make

Yeah wasnt trying to have a big wang contest. Just wondered if you guys were trying to make up for some wheelspeed with stickier tires. I like to peel the **** out and make racket. I dont want the racket coming from busted **** either.

It's not a compensation game, it's a getting to the top or over something game.

It's like if you had an option of having a little **** or a big ****. No dirty whore wants to see you flip out a thumb-****. I am sold on Reds because I like my tires to match my ****. :flipoff1:
