Figured I'd post up a build since I've met a couple of you and have started postin a little..

Spent the first year and a half daily driving it so I couldn't do much.. Finally got a different daily last summer so I tore into..

It's not anything crazy, but I figured some of you might enjoy!

This is how I bought it:

Drove it around and spent a whole lotta time at Choccolocco and Morris mountain.. Little thing would do it for a stocker :****:

Then came a little lift, some 32" Kendas, sliders, and some tube doors! I was running Old Manu Emu springs & 12" Bilstiens 5125s.

Used by buddy Will's welder since I had yet to buy a MIG.. I sucked at welding then :D

It started goin a little better then..

Re: Rigamortis - '81 Toyota Build

Started saving parts for this next stage of upgrades:

-RUF
-Chevy 63s
-5.29s & lockers
- Highsteer
- IFS hubs, Marlin Diff armor, knuckle ball gussets, Taco rotors, V6 calipers
- IFS rear w/ full disk brake kit.

Started with the rear. Like I said: IFS rear w/ disk brakes and a TG diff cover.

Okay then on to the front

Diff armor and knuckle ball gussets/shock mounts..

Then I dovetailed 16" and built a rear bumper.. I didn't take many good pics of this.. But you can see it in some of the other ones.. Like this:

Re: Rigamortis - '81 Toyota Build

I bought a GotPropane kit from a guy on here, brand new in box, and I threw it on.

Much better on the inclines!

While I was at it all, I stripped the entire wiring harness and interior out.

Gonna have to get some buckets to stick in there with harnesses..

And FINALLY.. I bought some tires and beadlocks off Travis (easleycrawler). 38" TSL SX on 15x10"

They look good with the dovetail..

Now to just get my junk back together!

Re: Rigamortis - '81 Toyota Build

Thanks.. Lots of little crap left out but didn't feel like going through all that..

Right now my plans are:

- Build a new wiring harness.
- Cage & dash.
- RCVs or Longfields.
- Winch.

Re: Rigamortis - '81 Toyota Build

Great truck...shame you had to cut up such a nice one. I really have a hard time with that sort of thing, but I just have to remind myself they all start out nice. LOL

I'm just impressed you've done all of that on stock front shafts...

Yeah I tell myself that sometimes, but can't have it all..

I haven't wheeled on the 38s yet, so the shafts haven't been a problem..

Ha, at least I know who's who now. And those 37's looked big on that truck.

Re: Rigamortis - '81 Toyota Build

Yeah its a good going rig. I'll probably be shotgunning it for awhile.

I got a Samurai at the shop right now that I've gotta do an axle rebuild on and some steering work before I get back to mine..

so that's where my old wheels and tires ended up..
Guess so lol. I traded somebody some old worn out tsls for them I guess right after you got rid of them. I do think I met you though somewhere around Guntersville and bought some stock birfields for spares.
