So it seems everything is led now which I understand doesn't have sufficient resistance to work for the alternator light. So my question Is if I get an led indicator lamp then take my old school check engine light and wire in in between the alternator and led light will it work to stimulate my alternator to charge?

You can't just wire in a resistor?

Measure the resistance of an incandescent bulb and the LED, subtract to get the difference, that's the resistor you should need.

X2........I was typing this then refreshed the page. Lol

I have done this several times in various harnesses. It absolutely works. Radio shack has a decent selection of resistors but a large electronics store that supplies computer parts has exactly what you need.
