Different people have different reasons, but some of the **** they're teaching in public school these days is even more whack than the socially-awkward kids that come out of home schools. And with Common Core its only getting worse.

I was just told Thursday that the school I'm at won't be renewing my contract after August, but I'll probably be moved to another. Apparently, I wasn't supposed to be teaching my boys to weld, I'm supposed to be tutoring them all in English, with about 20% of shop sprinkled in. Yes, I would say common core is the culprit. But my high school is a freak of nature in that aspect. Tennessee suspended common core (ran out of stimulus money) and every other school in Knoxville dropped it like a bad habit, and so did I. But not my school. I was going to the shop 10 minutes after the bell, **** we even went to the football field 4 times last week and changed the trash for our "community service" competency (state standard) to reward the boys for good behavior. My principals are hard core CC, and to be honest, if they didn't "fire" me, I was gonna put in for a transfer or go back to turning wrenches anyway.
