I'll preface this thread by saying that I'm building on a tight budget! After a year of Craigslist trading.... Yes I said Craigslist, I went from a broken cell phone to a toyota 4x4. With college courses and full time employment, play money is limited. So here goes nothing. I'm new to crawling and fab so don't grill me too hard! :flipgotcha:

1983 22r rebuilt with 261 low range offroad cam
Rusted out bed equipped with a matching rusty toolbox
5 speed w56 tranny, bone stock truck basically. :flipoff1:

Here is what I started with, don't mind my ugly ass buddy in the first pic!

It was the first actual bumper we had done, I already have plans for another style once I get some necessities on the truck

Got my TG high steer in this week along with some ARP knuckle studs. We put it on at a buddy's house earlier tonight. Here are a few pics....

I know, I know... The oil pan and valve cover were both painted neon green by the previous owner. I assume it was done during the rebuild.. Definitely a hideous color though. I also still need to install my other U-bolt flip. ( factory steering wouldn't clear it ).

I was planning to run 35's since I don't plan on getting duals for a while.

Just a heads up, I wouldn't be bumping any trees too hard with that bumper. Only two places welded to the frame and the thin ass metal you welded to is not gonna be sufficient.

Agreed. That bumper was more of an experiment as it was the first I've ever been a part of designing or constructing. When it's all said and done, the front will be caged and that bumper will be scrap. I've already got some designs for a cage I want to build

It will get tied in better when I get more time to work on it. Limited time in the shop that weekend didn't allow me to finish it so we did what we could.
