I have posted up on several boards surveying what people prefer for impacts...

What do you guys think?

snap-on? Harbor freight? Blue point? Husky? Craftsmen?

I am just a hobbiest not a mechanic. <sometimes I might disagree with that statement>

Thanks in advance!!!:hi:

EDIT: pneumatic preferred, although electric is cool too...

pneumatic or electric?

I used an electric impact today for the first time and it was pretty trick!

Ingersoll Rand would be my suggestion, a quality tool can be worth it's weight in gold, and I have been using Ingersoll Rand since the early '90's,
but I, like yourself, don't use it on a day to day basis like a few others around here do.

i second that... i know that all the new Matco air guns are made by IR... i love my snap-on guns... i work on cars for a living and for a hobby... and it's worth the extra money to buy the nice sh!t.but IR's are a great tool

Most mine are snap-on they make good quality and always stand by therproduct. Being i use them on a daily basis its worth the extra money. I just bought a new impact gun (1/2 Nitro Cat) by far the best 1/2 impact out there IMO. We've got 3 snap on guns and this one is by far the best.

Had good luck for a long time with my my AW434, Now I have the Matco knock off of it for typical job's, and for the tough jobs I bought my AW5500 about a year ago, and it is by far the toughest gun I have ever seen or used

If you are looking at buying a good gun I have a Mac Tools, AW434 that I have posted on here for sale. Its a awsome gun with no problems. Will have more power than you ever need.

It is an awesome gun, like I said, I had one for year's with no issues. More power than he will ever need??? Plenty power for sure, but I like my ability to snap 5/8 bolt's or non impact socket's pretty much on command.

I'm looking at getting this one:cool:
Buddy has one and this thing is the cat's ass!

About 1-2 months from now from what I just heard :D

1/2" drive, 350 or so ft-lbs, not bad for a cordless, not air teritory, but portability is nice.
